We are actively developing consortiums with key maritime industry stakeholders, with a common goal of driving new technological innovation and enabling an economically sustainable energy transition.

Zero Carbon Emission

Daphne is part of the Zero Carbon Emission pilot, initiated by Color Line, the largest cruise ferry line operating on routes to and from Norway. The company is also one of the leading operators in Europe, providing transport for both people and cargo.

The company aims to be at the forefront of introducing new and climate-friendly technology onboard their ships and in the ports they call at. The company's overall environmental strategy characterises the company's long-term investments with a vision of achieving zero emissions to both air and water. Although Color Line has a modern fleet, further measures and new solutions are needed if the company is to meet both international and national requirements for emission reductions by 2030.

The Objectives of the pilot

Color Line's vision is to offer its customers zero carbon emission sailing between Norway and Denmark by upgrading the ferry, M/S SuperSpeed 1. The pilot study aims to conduct a techno-economic screening of current fuel technologies and then a more in-depth analysis of the most promising and relevant technologies.

Daphne's delivery in the pilot

Daphne is a climate tech company developing technology that eliminates toxic and GHG emissions for the maritime and hard to decarbonise industries. Daphne offers a range of innovative solutions for any pollutant, giving the shipowners certainty that vessels will comply with local and global emissions regulations regardless of fuel or engine manufacturer and type. Furthermore, because Daphne's technology can be applied to multiple fuel types, it has the potential to make a substantial impact across the energy system.

About the Green Shipping Programme

The program aims to advance the Norwegian government's maritime strategies and plans. The programme's vision is to develop and strengthen Norway's goal to establish the world's most efficient and environmentally friendly shipping. The Green Shipping Programme perform studies, start pilots, and transfer knowledge between theory and practice. In addition, they facilitate dialogue and collaboration between all stakeholders. The Green Shipping Programme is an initiative by DNV to gather the maritime industry to escalate investment in green shipping.
