Preparing for all future fuels and emissions

With the new environmental regulations for the shipping industry,  MARPOL Annex VI revisions, and IMO’s climate change strategy, shipowners cannot rely on outdated legacy solutions, such as wet water scrubbers. Our CEO Dr. Mario Michan talks with MarineLog on the importance of preparing not only for today, but also for all future fuels and emissions.

Therefore, there is an urge to re-think the exhaust gas cleaning systems’ capacity. At Daphne Technology, we work within the existing frameworks and provide the industry with solutions that tackle the range of pollutants shipping needs to eradicate now, and those we anticipate will come over time.

At Daphne, we have the solution. Our innovation, SulPure®, is a SOx and NOx removal from ships system, with no water or wastewater discharge. Furthermore, we continue working on the development of new exhaust gas cleaning systems (EGCS). This includes tackling the challenge posed by methane slip (CH4) from LNG-powered vessels, which we have successfully demonstrated in our R&D facility in Lausanne and ammonia (N2O, NH3) slip. Our technology reduces both air and sea pollution for vessels powered by heavy/residual fuel, LNG, and future fuels.

Daphne's state-of-the-art patented technology is designed for the maritime industry so that marine vessels can meet, and even exceed, local and international IMO emission regulations, reducing the global footprint today and in the future.

We are fundraising

Daphne Technology is currently pursuing its second equity round and is raising CHF 15 million to conduct pilot testing with leading shipowners and support our commercial ramp-up. Our state-of-the-art patented technology enables the maritime industry to reach net-zero GHG emissions by 2050 or earlier. We reduce emissions from all fuels, providing compliance with toxic gases and mitigating GHG emissions without generating sea pollution from the offshore and maritime industry - reducing your global footprint today and in the future.
