SulPure® Circular Economy

SulPure®, removes sulphur oxide (SOx) pollutants from exhaust or flue gases, captures SOx and upscales it to ammonium sulfate fertiliser for agricultural use.

SulPure® reduces SOx pollution from various industrial sectors, including coal-fired power stations and sour gas (H2S) flaring. SulPure® is 99% more efficient in reducing SOx than usual environmental standards.

Why is sulphur oxide (SOx) reduction necessary?

Sulphur oxides (SOx) are compounds of sulphur and oxygen molecules. Sulphur dioxide (SO2) is the predominant form found in the lower atmosphere. SO2 is a colourless gas detected by taste and smell; it harms human health and is a precursor to acid rain and atmospheric particulates, harming sensitive ecosystems. 
 
Human activities such as agriculture, fuel combustion and industrial processes increase the number of sulphurous sulphur oxides in the atmosphere with catastrophic results.

SulPure® circular economy solution and key features:

  • The system removes 99.9% of SOx from the exhaust gas and converts it to fertiliser, contributing to the local economy.
  • It also reduces SOx emissions below the regulatory requirement.
  • The system consists of an injection system, a wet collector, required instrumentation, an automation system, and hardware and software for continuous real-time monitoring of inlet and outlet gases.
  • It is a modular system with no installation downtime for the existing equipment.
